You are the custodian, not the owner
In a PMC engagement the money belongs to the client. You collect funds, pay contractors and vendors on the client's behalf, and account for every rupee. General accounting software treats those payments as your expenses, which inflates your books and confuses your own tax position. Sampraxis records them in the client's project book instead.
- Client fund ledger — money received from the client and what it was spent on.
- Pass-through vendor bills — paid from client funds, never booked as your firm's cost.
- Commitments — what has been ordered or contracted but not yet paid.
Certifying contractors' work
Record the work you have measured and certified for each contractor, and the bills that follow from it. Approval runs through a consultant approval step, so nothing is paid from client funds without your sign-off.
PMC fee invoices, in your own book
Your fee is the only part that is your income. Raise PMC fee invoices from the project; they post to your firm's book with GST as per your registration. Overheads can be allocated across the projects you manage.
Owners without a GSTIN
Many individual house owners are not registered for GST, so they cannot take input tax credit. Sampraxis keeps such a project as transaction accounts — bills and payments without an ITC ledger — while your own fee invoices still follow your GST registration.
Full accounts for the client
Because it is their money, PMC clients can be given the full project accounts in the client portal: what came in, what was paid, to whom and against which certified work.
