RA bills from measurements, not from scratch
An RA bill is only as good as the quantities behind it. In Sampraxis, each bill starts from the BOQ items of the project and the quantities measured since the last bill. The abstract shows, for every item, the quantity billed up to the previous bill, the quantity in this bill and the cumulative total, with the BOQ rate and the amount.
- Quantities carry forward from bill to bill, so bill No. 5 knows what bills 1 to 4 already claimed.
- Each bill moves through a status timeline — draft, submitted, certified, approved, paid — so everyone knows where it stands.
- Download the bill as a PDF for the client and as an Excel sheet for checking.
GST billing for works contracts, vendor bills and ITC
GST billing for a contractor is more than adding 18% at the bottom. Every line can carry its own HSN or SAC code and rate from a master list, and the bill splits tax into CGST and SGST or IGST based on the place of supply.
- Output GST on RA bills and other client invoices, with credit notes when a bill is reduced.
- Input tax credit from vendor bills, and ITC reversals where credit has to be given back.
- E-invoice register to keep track of invoice reference numbers.
- Construction cess tracked where it applies to the project.
Retention and TDS on every bill
Clients deduct retention and income-tax TDS from what they pay you, and you deduct TDS from your vendors and subcontractors. Sampraxis records both sides:
- Retention held on each client bill, and its release later; the same for retention you hold from subcontractors.
- TDS deducted by clients, reconciled against Form 26AS.
- TDS you deduct: a register, challans and the quarterly return data (Form 26Q).
GST returns: GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2B and GSTR-9
Because bills and vendor invoices are already in the system, the return data builds itself. Download GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B as JSON for upload or Excel for review, check purchase credit against GSTR-2B, and use the year's figures for the GSTR-9 annual return.
The accounting side of each bill is covered on the construction accounting page.
