Sampraxis CAD
Building CAD that turns the plan into a model you can build from
Sampraxis CAD is desktop CAD for Indian buildings. Draw the plan with grids, snaps and typed dimensions, or import it from AutoCAD, and it becomes an editable 3D model: walls with their doors and windows, slabs, columns, beams, footings and stairs. Sections, elevations, drawing sheets and quantities come from that one model.

Model first. Every drawing and quantity follows.
Sampraxis CAD is being built model-first for Indian buildings: one authoritative building model, edited in plan or in 3D, from which sections, elevations, sheets and quantities are produced rather than drawn again. The three sheets below were generated from the same illustrative model as the building in the story.
Plan, section and elevation generated from one model: 129 walls, 137 doors and windows, 120 columns and 95 stair treads. Every quantity on this page is computed from it and labelled illustrative.
works in development builds
- Lines and walls with typed lengths, grids, snaps, ortho and working planes
- Walls host doors and windows; lintels, sills, finishes and skirting follow
- Slabs, rooms and cut-outs, resized with live areas
- Rectangular columns, beams, isolated footings, plinth beams and explicit junctions
- Five stair layouts and straight ramps with headroom checks
- Named levels, unified grids and independent floor copies
- Live sections and elevations synchronised with the model
- Sheets A4–A1 at exact scales with title blocks; PDF, SVG and DXF export
- Finishes quantities with editable rates; projects saved locally with full history
in testing
- DXF and DWG import as a reviewed reference layer, aligned to levels
- AI through MCP: inspect a project, propose elements, review, create, reconcile
in development
- AI reads a complete drawing set and builds the editable model
- Structural quantities and a full priced BOQ
- Exchange with Sampraxis Project Management: approved BOQ in, revisions as differences to approve
AI through MCP · in testing
The assistant proposes. The CAD engine builds and measures.
With your permission an assistant such as Claude or Codex inspects a project and its imported drawings and proposes walls, openings and slabs. You review before anything is created; geometry and every quantity are calculated by Sampraxis CAD, not by the AI. In development builds a scripted MCP client has built a complete four-storey residence this way and saved it as an ordinary, hand-editable project.

How it is built
Decisions the product is built on
-
One authoritative building model
Plan, 3D, sections, elevations, sheets and quantities are views of the same elements. Edit a wall in plan and the section, the sheet and the finishes quantity follow.
-
Commands own the model
Every change is a command with undo and redo, saved into a native project file with its full history. The invited trial requires online sign-in for editing.
-
Exact paper scales, model-owned dimensions
Sheets are placed at true scale (1:50, 1:100…) with title blocks; a dimension on a sheet is the model’s value, never a typed number.
-
AI is an optional operator
An assistant works through the same tools a person uses, through MCP, and everything it proposes is reviewed before it is created. Geometry and quantities are calculated by the CAD engine.
-
Connected workflows, permanent identities
Elements keep their identity through copies, floors and history, so a quantity, a sheet note or a later Project Management task can always point back to the element it came from.
-
Nothing claimed that is not qualified
Each capability is recorded as implemented, partial or planned in the CAD engineering records, with the tests that prove it. This page uses the same words.
From the model to the BOQ
Quantities in Sampraxis CAD are measured from the model, not typed in. Today that covers finishes: wall faces and height bands, room dado, opening reveals and their rates. Structural quantities and a complete priced BOQ are in development, followed by sending the approved quantities to Sampraxis Project Management as the Design QTO, estimate and tasks. Read how the two products connect.
Frequently asked questions
When can I use Sampraxis CAD?
Register for the limited test demo preview. We review registrations and email selected participants a download link and access instructions. Registration does not guarantee access. This is a test demo, not the final product launch.
Can I bring in my AutoCAD drawings?
Yes, as a reference to model from: DXF and DWG plans import with their layers, units and placement checked before anything is created, and can be aligned to levels. Import is in testing, so some drawing features may not come through yet.
Does the AI design the building?
No. The assistant proposes elements from your drawings and you review them in Sampraxis CAD before they are created. The CAD engine calculates the geometry and quantities, and every element stays editable by hand.
Where are my projects stored?
Sampraxis CAD is a desktop application. A project is saved as a file on your computer, with its full edit history. The invited trial requires online sign-in for editing; saved work stays on your computer if access stops.
Will it talk to Sampraxis Project Management?
That is the plan: the approved quantities become the project’s Design QTO and estimate, and a drawing revision arrives as a difference to approve. The exchange is in development; each product works on its own today.
